HADLEY Yoga Club 5th Grade Session #2 Oct 23 30 Nov 6 13

Cost: $0.00

Yoga Club is a group of students dedicated to the practice of school based yoga. We use the practice of yoga (breath and movement) to

manage stress, improve the mind-body connection, and increase strength and flexibility.

Specifics:

Every Wednesday between October 23 to November 13

Time: 2:15 - 3:30 PM

What to wear:

Ladies: Comfortable pants or capris/ t-shirt

Gentlemen: Comfortable short or pants/ t-shirt

What to Expect:

Students have had a long day of school so we begin the first five

minutes with a light snack and bathroom break in the classroom.

Next, since most students are new to yoga, we spent about ten

minutes naming/breaking down a few postures. This introduction

helps the sequences move smoothly. Then we head to the library

for approximately a 45 minute yoga class. We spend 5 minutes

after the class reflecting and setting goals for ourselves whether

they be yoga, school, life or extracurricular related. Finally, we

wipe down our mats and pack up our things in the classroom. I

have approximately 20 yoga mats and 20 yoga blocks that

students may borrow. However, if students have their own, they

are invited welcome to bring them.

Mrs. DeFilippis-Holba has been practicing yoga for five years.
